- Description: The US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, has a competitive requirement the for the survey of upland areas within the McNary Project as part of its mandated cultural resource responsibilities. The McNary Project included ap proximately 18,000 acres of federal land in Benton County, Franklin County and Walla Walla County, Washington and Umatilla County, Oregon. Approximately 7,009 acres are to be surveyed. The remaining project lands are managed under easements, leases, coop erative agreements, or owned by others and will not be surveyed for the presence or absence of cultural resources under the resulting contract. This requirement will focus on completion of an intensive cultural resource pedestrian survey of previously uns urveyed Project uplands in the McNary Project. Survey areas will be investigated wen land surfaces are not covered by snow or heavy frost. It is the Governments intent to award a fixed-price contract for a base period and four option periods.
