Description
Project magnitude is between $25,000 and $100,000 and will be awarded to a Small Business. Remove aircraft parking apron striping and re-paint area. Existing paint is chipping and peeling. The scope of work is as follows: Removal: Existing paint shall be removed 100% by method of water pressure or water blasting. Paint removal must not exceed five working days (weather permitting). All paint chips and particles must be 100% removed from Flight Line area and disposed of by the Contractor on a daily basis. Areas where paint is to be removed will be identified on drawing. Contractor will be responsible for re-laying out area to be painted if removal method is such that the original layout cannot be followed. Painting: Area to be painted will be specified on drawing provided. Color and letter size will be specified on drawing provided. Glass beads shall be distributed on areas designated on drawing. Glass beads will be applied immediately after paint is applied. All striping shall be installed and parallel to bordering lines and pavement joints with minimum deviation. All radius lines will be smooth and neat. All edges of lines will be neat and crisp. Paint will be waterborne technology and will dry in and accept traffic within two minutes of application. Paint will meet Federal Specification 1952D and will have been certified by the KY Department of Transportation. Only certified batch numbers will be accepted and should be provided during pre-construction meeting. All paint supplied shall have the origi nal manufacture label intact. Before painting will begin, contractor will ensure that area to be painted is free and clean of old paint, dirt, oil or any substance that will prohibit the new paint from adhering. Painting of aircraft parking apron should not exceed four working days. Work schedules will be pre-approved by the Aircraft Generation Sq. All disciplines of total project will be discussed and agreed upon by all parties before any work is allowed to start (This will include personnel from the Aircraft Generation Sq.)
