Description
The Program Manager for Expeditionary Power Systems, Marine Corps Systems Command has the responsibility to field and support tactical generators, floodlights, power adaptors, and various power equipment across the Marine Corps. A key function is transportability of this equipment on USMC trucks, aircraft, ships, and trailers. The Program Manager has a need to develop and field various defined, and to-be-defined, pieces of mechanical equipment to support its power equipment mission. The Marine Corps Systems Command seeks sources and information for Support Technical Services (STS) in support of minor parts fabrication and power equipment integration. The scope of this effort will be to design, fabricate, assemble, and document mechanical and electrical interface kits as the need arises to support USMC power equipment. The actual development of power equipment will not be part of the scope of the effort. Efforts will be negotiated and awarded on an individual basis ! include Design and Engineering (both mechanical and electrical), Prototype Fabrication, Production Fabrication, Documentation Preparation, and Packaging / Handling / Shipment / Transportation. The selected contractor will be responsible to perform these functions based on USMC input and requirements. Meetings and travel to Quantico Virginia will be required. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) may be an appropriate method for these supplies and services (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.0 and 8.4). Commercial firms possessing the characteristics noted above are invited to submit the following: (1) Corporate brochures or materials outlining capabilities, (2) current GSA contract information regarding schedules relevant to proposed work effort (3) past performance information and references for similar efforts to the proposed work effort. Responses will be evaluated to identify firms capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This sources sought / Request For Information (RFI) will be utilized to create a pool of potential offerors from whom the Government intends to acquire services. This sources sought/request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisition. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. Responses to this RFI shall be mailed to Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Contracts Directorate, 2200 Lester Street, PMM-153 (CTQ), Quantico, VA 22134-5060 no later than 15 September 2005.
