Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, 820 Chandler Street, Fort Detrick, MD 21702 intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis a SOLE SOURCE procurement with TECAN U. S. INC 4022 Stirrup Creek Drive, Durham, NC, Pos t Office Box 13953 Research Triangle Park, NC 27709-3953. The requirement is for a Demo model TECAN SAFIRE 2 Monochromator Micro Plate Reader. TECAN is the original equipment manufacturer and the only source that can provide a Demo model at a reduced pri ce. This specific equipment is required because of its unique variable bandwidth selection, the Z-axis focusing and Fluorescence and Absorbance Intensity modes features. This is not a request for proposal. Offerors who can provide an equal product must provide complete technical literature to include pricing and delivery to the Contracting Officer, Ms. Pamela E. Nevels, pamela.nevels@amedd.army.mil for review by 2:00 PM EST on August 8, 2005. This information will be used to develop competitive sources for future requirements.
