Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: 1. What is the ceiling height for the rooms? Max ceiling height would be fine. We just need to know if this is a two person or one person job and if we need a lift or just a simple 6ft ladder. - No Lift required, these are standard 9 ft ceilings. From previous installs I have seen, one person can put one in with a standard 6 ft ladder. 2. Does the ceiling already have a ceiling plate from another projector? Are the ceilings drop ceilings or a firm solid fixture to bolt the mounts onto? Some drop ceilings will require another plate to bracket the mount onto. - We have drop ceilings with poles mounted into the uni-strut above the ceiling. The pieces I am asking for will screw on to the pole and connect with the projector. I currently have the top piece that screws on to the existing pole, the bottom piece is different for each projector. 3. The existing conduit: What is the size (diameter) of the existing conduit? The issue and concern is in order to extend an USB connection 30 feet, two 16' active USB cables will need to be connected in serial. This may present a problem as the cable end of one is a little larger to amplify the USB signal. This connection will require a minimum of 2" of free space within the existing conduit. What about wireless USB mouse connection? - The existing conduit is approximately 2 inches in diameter. If it helps we currently have serial mouse cable run through the conduit. Wireless will work only if it is IR versus RF. The reason is that these rooms are close together and we don not want each room activating another. 3. I assume that old cables and conduit for the mice are in place for all of the locations. Is that correct? Yes they are in the existing conduit. 4. Is there a 120 volt power outlet available within a few feet of the location of these projectors in order to plug them in? Yes there is a standard wall plug at the PC where the mouse will plug in. 5. Is there a specific brand and model # that is the basis for the RFQ? We want to ensure the proper suggestion of exact or better solutions. The end user had based their purchase request on an NEC model VT 770, but a projector with equal or better capabilities would be acceptable. 6. Are there existing screens, and if so what size ? Yes there are existing screens that are 65" x 65" 7. Have the existing Eiki LC-X990 projectors already been removed or is removal to be included in this contract? No they have not been removed yet. They are still being used and will be removed prior to installation of the new projectors. No they are not part of this contract 8. What are the sources of info going to projectors ? Video, PC input 2 each, Sound NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (03-AUG-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
