Description
THIS IS FOR SUBCONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES ONLY. This solicitation invites proposals from prequalified contractors (see list below) for the construction of a new Vehicle Maintenance Postal Facility, Ft Pierce, FL, Port St Lucie located on 5000 W Midway Road. The building will contain 12,784 square feet of new building and site development on existing USPS owned land behind the existing Ft Pierce, FL Main Post Office. The work includes, but is not limited to, concrete paving, concrete walks, storm drainage, retention pond, site lighting, concrete masonry and steel joist construction, metal siding and building overhang, modified bitumen roofing, interior cmu walls, bollards, trench drains, HVAC units, new electrical, lighting, VMF equipment, landscaping, irrigation and other work associated with postal facilities. Bonds must be received within 5 days from receipt of Intent to Award. Notice to Proceed with construction will be issued no later than October 14, 2005. Work must start no later than 10 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Funding is not yet approved for this project. It is however expected that funding approval will occur in a time frame that will allow for issuance of a contract prior to 9/23/05. Cost range: $2,223,920 -$2,594,574 Const. time: 365 calendar days The subcontracting goals for this contract is a minimum of 10% for minority-owned businesses, a minimum of 40% small business enterprises and minimum of 7% for women-owned businesses in accordance with solicitation Clause 3-1. Participation with women owned businesses and minority owned businesses is encouraged. Reference is made to Clause B-38, Accident Prevention. All construction work on projects must be performed in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) of 1970. If the USPS is fined for OSHA violations caused by the contractor, the contractor shall pay the fine or reimburse the USPS for the amount of the fine. No Proposal Guarantee (Bid Bond) is required but a letter from your bonding company and bank ARE required (see Offerors Submittal Information). A 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond will be required of the successful offeror.
