Description: The previous announcement is modified as follows: 1) The following paragraph shall be added in section 2 Project Information: Examples of security engineering and protective design projects include: all aforementioned structures and bridges of all types, including but not limited to long-span bridges, suspension and cantilevered truss type. These projects shall consist of threat , risk, and vulnerability assessments; electronic surveillance, detection, security and communication systems; physical security systems; dynamic modeling of the response of structural elements to explosive and collision impact loadings; explosion mitigati on designs; structural redundancy/hardening/strengthening/shielding; fire protection systems; and collision impact mitigation designs. Furthermore, bridge projects will require the maintenance and protection of traffic. 2) The following paragraph shall be added under subsection 3.a. Selection Criteria - Primary Selection criteria: Specialized experience and technical competence in: Demonstrate ability to design security engineering and protective design projects, similar to the categories listed in paragraph 2 Project Information. Projects completed before Jan. 1998 will not be considered. The basis for the evaluation will be based on the information in Section F of the SF 330. 3) Bridge Engineering shall be added under subsection 3.b. Selection Criteria - Primary Selection criteria: Qualified registered professional in the following key disciplines: All other information posted on 20 July 2005 remains unchanged.
