Description

CORROSION CONTROL FACILITY, KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, BERNALILLO COUNTY, NEW MEXICO. The proposed procurement is unrestricted, open to both large and small business concerns. NAICS is 236220/SIC 1542, with a size standard of $28,500,000.00. The magnit ude of construction is greater than $10,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. Offerors attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding the tour of the site. Plans will be issued on or about 10 Augus t 2005, with proposals due on or about 12 September 2005. Large business firms are required to submit a subcontracting plan with the following minimum goals: 50.9% for small business; 8.8% for small disadvantaged business; 7.2% for women-owned small busine ss; 2.9% for HUBZone small business; and 0.5% for service-disabled veteran-owned small business. Offerors are advised that this requirement may be delayed, cancelled, or revised at any time during the solicitation, or final award process, and is subject to the availability of funds. THE PROJECT consists of the construction of a 28,994 s.f. (base bid - 38,272 s.f. for base bid plus option) modern Corrosion Control/Painting Facility at Kirtland AFB, NM. The project shall incorporate all utility support, heal th and safety features, including fire detection/suppression systems. The facility will include an aircraft paint bay, support equipment preparation bay and paint booth, paint mixing room, composite repair room and a plastic media blasting room. There is not specific demolition associated with this project nor is there relocation of utilities and communication lines; however, a detention pond, pavement driveways, and miscellaneous landscaping will be required. THE PROJECT will be advertised as a Request for Proposal. Proposed procurement will result in a firm-fixed price contract.
