It is the Governments intent to solicit quotes sole source from Varian, Inc., 2700 Mitchell Dr, Walnut Creek, CA 94598-1675 using FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures and award a firm-fixed price c ontract. They are the only source for the above since they have proprietary rights on the design and operational characteristics of their system and do not allow other companies to service their equipment.
