Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Tecan, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for a Genios Pro Multidetection Microplate Reader with accessories. Purchase includes 1 each of the following items: 1) #16129935 Genios Pro Multidetection microplate reader w/filters; 2) #30005169 Magellan Data reduction; 3) #30007872 Bottom read option; 4) #30004952 Luminescence option; and 5) #30007874 Dual Injectors. The system must have the following characteristics: rapidly measure with high sensitivity and accuracy both fluorescence and dual-color luminescence, must be adapted rapidly to 6-well, 96-well and 384-well formats in all detection modes, must perform accurate, kinetic measurements of the induction of genes through fast reading of emissions from each well, must have at least one injector (preferably 2 for 96-well plates) as well as several mixing and incubation options, fluorescence detection must be possible from below the sample plane, must be an extensive set of filters for multi-color fluorescence and measuring protein-protein interactions through FRET-analysis, and a well-scanning function that determines approx. cell density and locates regions with each well that support even cell growth. Any firm believing itself capable of providing these services may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 15 days of date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Tecan. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000. There is no solicitation package available. For any questions regarding this announcement, please contact Dee Lunney via email lunney@niehs.nih.gov.*****
