Description
This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Project Planning and Management Division Western Region (PPMD)located in Seattle, WA has a requirement to upgrade the seawater intake system on the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), Marine Science Campus in Santa Cruz, California. The project scope of work is to provide system upgrades to the existing seawater system to allow it to operate more effectively and efficiently to serve the system users. The intended acquisition if for services for which the government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. The government has identified UCSC as the only source who can complete work under proposed contract. The seawater intake system which utilizes the UCSC seawater distribution system serves NOAA?s Santa Cruz Laboratory as well as other UCSC facilities located on the Marine Science Campus. The joint use seawater intake system is operated and maintained by University of California, Santa Cruz Physical Plant staff under a memorandum of understanding dated July 5, 2002 with the Dept of Commerce representing NOAA. A firm-fixed price order will be awarded with performance period of 180 days from date of issuance. This not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The government reserves the right to solicit offers based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice, or issue a contract to University of California, Santa Cruz without further notice. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed to (206) 526-6025 attention to Maria Mendoza. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100, 000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
