- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving & Printing (BEP) has a requirement for Currency Bundle Bands and Currency Strap Bands to be used for wrapping and containing Federal Reserve Notes for its Fort Worth, Texas facility. An unrestricted full and open competitive solicitation is planned. A fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) type contract is anticipated encompassing a base period of twelve months with four (4) twelve month option periods. The estimated quantity for the Currency Strap Bands is approximately 2,615,000 bands per year and the Currency Bundle Bands is approximately 500,000 per year. This procurement will be negotiated and awarded according to the procedures set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 15. Offerors will be required to submit material samples for test and evaluation. The source selection decision will be based upon overall best value to the BEP, price and non-price factors considered. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be issued on or before May 16, 2005. A thirty (30) day response time is planned. Contract award is planned for October 2005. BEP is posting this announcement, as well as the final solicitation on GSA’s Electronic Posting System at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
