Solicitation documents are not available. This proposed contract action is for procurement of : 1.0 Metal-Coated Particles Supply metal-coated particles to meet the user??s specification of coated substrate, metallic coating, particle size and coating uniformity. Table 1 shows objectives and thresholds for metal-coated particles. Table 1: Requirements for Metal-Coated Particles Property Objective Threshold Coating (for all substrates) -- metal Cu, Ni, Co, Al, Ti Cu or Ni -- max weight ?? 10-wt% ?? 30-wt% -- min uniform coverage 100% 95% -- max thickness variation 5% 25% Substrates -- material SiC, B4C, Diamond, c-BN, SiC, B4C, Diamond Al2O3, WC, amorphous- copper alloy -- mean particle size 220 Grit (60-mm) -- -- particle size variance ?? 10% ?? 30% 1.2 Manufacture of Test Articles Manufacture test articles using metal-coated particles (ref Section 1.0) to satisfy the user??s requirements for size, shape, composition, metal content, homogeneity and density. Test article dimensions and density requirements are given in Table 2 below. An objective of this project is to attain 90 ?C 95% of theoretical density in all test articles. The project threshold is 75% of theoretical density in all test articles. All articles having the same composition must have densities within ??10%. All plates will be manufactured to the dimensions specified in Table 2.
