Description
Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, and materials required to replace existing facility Water Softener System located in Building 7 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Project will consist of the demolition of existing steel softener tanks and replacing with new fiberglass tanks and controls of the same capacity, install all new copper piping, fittings, and valves, to replace demolished piping, fittings, and valves. Install new PVC brine feeder piping, valves, and fittings. Demolish existing brine tank overflow pipe, drain pipe and valve, and the float control fill valve; replace with new copper pipe, new valves, new fittings, and new float control fill valve. Replace designated portions of the 6" diameter city water supply pipe and the 6" diameter discharge pipe that fills the water tower. Replace the existing 6" diameter flowmeter of the discharge piping and the 6" butterfly valve of the city water supply piping. valve as indicated on the plans. Install a new backflow preventer in the 6" diameter city water supply line. Construct a new 6" copper pipe bypass with new isolation valves around the backflow preventer with a 6" butterfly isolation valve. All work shall be performed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. The performance period is 90 callendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will only be available on the Business Opportunities System website. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. The estimated cost range for this project is $25,000 to $100,000. The North American Classification System (NAICS) is 238220; size standard is $12.0 Million. Issue date is August 2, 2005. A Pre-bid meeting/walkthrough is scheduled for August 30, 2005 at 1:30PM CT (local time), attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Bid opening is 2:00PM (local time) on September 20, 2005. Electronic and faxed bids will not be accepted. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
