Description
MODIFICATION 01 IS HEREBY ISSUED TO EXTEND RESPONSE DATE TO CLOSE OF BUSINESS AUG 12, 2005. This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for a trawl vessel to conduct studies of gear performance and fish behavior in trawls as well as studies of trawl modifications to reduce effects on seafloor habitat features. The charter will consist of 12 days of charter with the option to extend for additional 7 additional charter days. Activities will include bottom trawling , studies will include towing a camera/sonar sled across the seafloor at speeds as slow as 1 knot. The vessel must have the capability to navigate designed tow paths at such slow speed. The first period of charter will be one or two short (2 days) tests of the seafloor sled during Sept, 2005. The remainder of the work will occur between May 1 and Sept 30, 2006. Charter periods will begin and end in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. The vessel must have minimum overall length-36.5 m (120 ft), minimum main engine horsepower of at least 1000 and must be completely rigged and ready to fish. Offerors shall supply full net and rigging plans for proposed bottom trawl and associated rigging and a listing of bottom trawl fisheries in which it has been used. A firm-fixed price order will be issued with performance period from Sept 1, 2005 to Sept 30, 2006. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100, 000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003.
