- This is a Solicitation Notice for the General Services Administration. GSA will will be issuing a RFP solicitation for Design-Build Services for a project located at the 230 N. First Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, Federal Building and United States Courthouse. Design Intent Bridging Documents have been completed and will be used to solicit bids from qualified Design-Build contractor. These documents will serve as the approved Design Intent, to be used by the awarded contractor to complete Construction Documents. This project will involve the North and South elevations of the building, where the current fresh air intakes are located. The mechanical rooms, located at the North and South elevations, currently use fresh air intake fed through on-grade and above-grade openings from the basement to the 8th floor. The Design Intent Bridging Documents require the construction of a new intake air shaft from the street level to the 8th floor that will limit fresh air intake to the areas at the 5th floor and above. The shaft will be sealed at the floors below the 5th floor. The estimated timeframe on this project is ten months for both design and construction. All work will need to be closely coordinated with GSA to ensure undisturbed and normal operations of the building and its tenants during the construction period. Any disruptive work may have to be scheduled for after hours. The normal building hours are Monday through Friday 6AM ? 6PM. The total estimated budget on this project is $500,000 - $1,000,000. All employees working on this project will need to pass a full background check through the Department of Homeland Security. Only those who have passed the security check will be allowed to work on the project. The solicitation will be issued on Monday, August 1, 2005 and will close on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the close of business. A pre-solicitation conference and site walk will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 9 AM at the 230 N. First Avenue Federal Building and Courthouse in the Joint Use Conference Room on the second floor, Room #205.
