- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting synopses and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by NSWC Crane. The Navy has a requirement for CPU cards and controller cards, Kontron part numbers CP301-E2 and CP345-E2. This requirement will be negotiated on a sole-source basis with Kontron America, Inc, 6260 Sequence Drive, San Diego, CA 92121, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. Existing equipment has met Virginia Class functional requirements and environmental quality testing requirements, and any substitutes would have to be tested and re-qualified at excessive time and monetary costs. The acquisition will be conducted with Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Items in accordance with FAR 13.5. This action will result in a Firm Fixed Price contract. The solicitation is expected to be posted on or about 8 August 2005 on the NSWC Crane website at www.crane.navy.mil/supply/homepage.htm; no hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed.
