PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. SET-ASIDE: THIS PROJECT IS A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. SOLICITATION NO.: Q553005A073 DESCRIPTION: This solicitation is to provide all materials, supplies, equipment and labor to prepare the Visitor Center for installation of new exhibits according to the following: Item 1: Lobby: Existing floor tiles will be removed and new tiles installed. Other specified areas will have new carpet tiles installed. Old carpet will be removed and disposed. Visitor Center desk to be disassembled and removed. Utility connections to be moved to the site of the new desk. Existing fluorescent lighting will be removed and replaced with track lighting. Make miscellaneous repairs as needed throughout the area due to various repairs. Item 2: Hallway in Exhibit Area: Remove sheet rock and patch to match existing materials. Dismantle and dispose of wall sections. Repair as needed. Dismantle and dispose of raised platform area. Dismantle and dispose of interior encasement wall and floor including removal of overhead glass panel and repair area as needed. Remove and reposition existing window. Provide electrical service as needed for modifications. Remove wallpaper in specified areas and prepare drywall to surface appropriate for painting. Contractor shall provide carpet samples and ceramic tile samples for approval prior to installation. Contactor shall dispose of all demolitioned materials and waste products in an approved landfill except for items otherwise designated. Prospective contractors shall make an appointment for an on site inspection of the project prior to submitting a quote. Anticipated award date is August 25, 2005 with work to begin immediately thereafter. All work must be completed prior to installation of new exhibits which are expected in early November 2005. LOCATION: All work is to be conducted at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHS Visitor Center, Hodgenville, KY 42748. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 the small business size standard is $28.5 million dollars. This procurement is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and is subject to the provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
