- This information is furnished for subcontracting opportunities ONLY. This solicitation is for prequalified contractors only (see list below) for the construction of a new Postal Facility, Venice, FL ? North Port Branch located on North Port Way. The building will contain approximately 27,000 sq ft of floor space. The work includes, but is not limited to, steel frame construction, concrete, masonry, carpentry, modified bitumen roofing, insulation, hollow metal doors, metal studs, gyp board, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, vinyl composition tile flooring, carpet, painting, store fixtures, landscaping, electrical, mechanical, utilities and other work associated with postal facilities. Notice to Proceed with construction will be issued no later than October 7, 2005. Cost range: $3,112,659 - $3,631,436 Const. time: 365 calendar days The subcontracting goals for this contract is a minimum of 10% for minority-owned businesses, a minimum of 40% small business enterprises and minimum of 7% for women-owned businesses in accordance with solicitation Clause 3-1. Participation with women owned businesses and minority owned businesses is encouraged. Reference is made to Clause B-38, Accident Prevention. All construction work on projects must be performed in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) of 1970. If the USPS is fined for OSHA violations caused by the contractor, the contractor shall pay the fine or reimburse the USPS for the amount of the fine.
