- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Microsoft Corporation 5335 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 800, Washington, DC to add Microsoft Corporation ?Alliance? support services to the current contract that SSA has for Microsoft Consulting Support Services. Under the authority provided in Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b), the Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. As a result of adding Alliance support, SSA will increase the maximum dollar ceiling of the consulting support services by $950,000. This increase is necessary as SSA currently has expended over $800,000 against this contract and the current contract ceiling amount is $900,000. As a result of adding the Alliance support, SSA will also extend the period of performance for an additional one year period. The current contract will expire in January 2006 and allows SSA to order Microsoft ?Consulting? support services. These are services that are provided to advise SSA on planning, configuration and other pre-deployment issues. Once the products are deployed, Microsoft requires that the customer utilize another category of services called ?Alliance?. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of this solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All interested parties must respond before the closing date of this notice. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicting your firm?s capability to provide the proprietary support services. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to SSA-MSAllianceSupport-CS. If after August 12, 2005, no viable responses have been received to this announcement, SSA shall negotiate solely with Microsoft Corporation. The size limitation for email attachments is five megabytes per individual email message
