Description
NAICS Code: 4214 In accordance with FAR subpart 13.106-1(b), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeks to negotiate on a sole source basis to Gerstel, Inc., for the purchase of a thermal desorption unit (TDU), (Twister Desorption Unit). The US EPA, National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRMRL), Air Pollution Prevention and Control Division located in Research Triangle Park has undertaken a project to chemically analyze size-segregated PM2.5 samples collected in a low-pressure impactor and requires a TDU. The unit is to be integrated to an existing gas chromatograph/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) instruments (Agilent Technologies); requires a cooled inlet system (CIS) retrofit; and operates without a transfer line compatible with Agilent electronics and pneumatics. Gerstel, Inc.'s TDU is uniquely designed without a transfer line and interfaces directly to the Agilent GC inlet eliminating the need for analyte transfer. Interested parties who feel that they possess a product that can meet the requirements above can submit technical documentation to establish the potential of complying with the specifications. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Please send your documentation to Angela Schopler at the office identified above, by fax (513)487-2109 or by e-mail at schopler.angela@epa.gov, which establishes that your specifications or qualifications meet the EPA's requirement. Documentation must be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by the EPA. Phone requests will not be honored. A determination by the EPA not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
