Description

BREEDING PERIOD CONSTRAINTS: Item 1. Ditch 255: There is no critical breeding period concerning Ditch 256. So, no work period constraints exist for item 1, Ditch 255. Contractor should notify the Refuge as to the start date of work on ditch 256 so that we can modify our irrigation schedule. Item 2, A-B ditch: The critical breeding period for nesting birds occurs from March 1- August 31. The ideal work window is September 1 - October 31. However, some work can occur after that window as long as it ceases by March 1. Contractor should attempt to complete entire distribution sections at a time so as to allow for water flow to some of the adjacent ponds as soon as possible. STATEMENT OF WORK Demolition and replacement of canal 255, this is to include demolition and disposal of existing concrete ditch, excavation as need and replacement with new concrete canal, including all labor and concrete, new slide gates and outlet pipes and other materials for canal to function in compliance with standards set by the Imperial Irrigation District. Installation of concrete water delivery ditch, for water delivery to the A and B ponds cost should include excavation, all materials and labor, slide gates and outlet pipes. Existing drop boxes and associated pipes are to remain in place. Work to be inspected by the Service as sections are completed to avoid any misunderstandings of what is expected of contractor prior to end of billing cycle.
