Description
Since the terrorist attacks on 11 Sep 01, operational requirements for Command and Control Infrastructure have grown by leaps and bounds. The communications community has seen a tremendous surge in the number of Users requiring access to classified n etworks and classified systems, including the Global Command and Control System (GCCS), which supports various operations for Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). The growth of these classified infrastructure requirements forced the need for new and revised r e gulations/instructions pertaining to physical security and the safeguarding of information. As a result, PACAF/SC (Communication & Information) has begun to install physical intrusion detection systems (IDS) to support the physical security component of it s classified systems. In conjunction with the increased requirements for IDS, PACAF/SF (Security Force) has partnered with PACAF/SC in a joint initiative to standardize the IDS across the PACAF AOR. This joint effort includes the installation of a new annu nciator at the Security Forces Control Center at all PACAF Installations. PACAF/SC is installing the Vindicator annunciator systems as part of its C2 modernization project to achieve PACAFs goal of standardization on a single annunciator platform. C urren tly, Hickam AFB has completed the installation of the Vindicator annunciator panel at its Security Forces Control Center. Current and future projects being constructed under the AF MILCON program will have to comply with this requirement and provide the Vi ndicator system for the IDS.
