- AFWay II RFI Update Final Business Management Modernization Program approval for the modernization project was given with the following condition: "The functionality in AFeBuy* that duplicates functionality in the Department of Defense Electronic Mall (DoDEMALL) must not be used. For that functionality, DoDEMALL must be used instead." *AFWay II was referred to as AFeBuy when going through the BMMP approval process. DoD eMall has told the AFWay Program Office they can provide, to varying degrees, the following functionality required for AFWay II: On-line Help/Training, User Registration/Profile, Role-based Access, Product Search, Product Comparison, On-line Catalogs, Access to external catalogs, Shopping Cart, Waiver, Request for Quote (RFQ) Customizable Workflow, Multiple Funding Sources Ordering, System Administration, System Access, Security and Privacy Because this condition is more restrictive than the one cited in the RFI ("The AFeBuy solution has duplicative capabilities relative to DoD EMALL, in particular electronic catalogs. Therefore, where duplication between these solutions exists, DoD EMALL must be leveraged."), the program office requests any additional feedback you would like to provide on the impact of leveraging within a COTS solution the DoD eMall functionality listed above. Again, we ask for feedback on: a. Feasibility of integration b. Impact on cost and schedule for implementing the new solution c. Impact on performance of new solution d. Risks e. Recommendation If the more restrictive condition would change the response you provided to question 7 of the RFI and you would like to provide an updated response, please send your comments electronically to Patricia Beasley at patricia.beasley@gunter.af.mil with a copy to the Contracting Officer, Dwynell Streeter at dwynell.streeter@gunter.af.mil. Input should be submitted no later than 4:00 PM on 5 August 2005. An acquisition approach/schedule has not been formulated. Information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
