- Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, tools, material, equipment, and supplies in performing all necessary design and construction services to: Repair Golf Course Greens, Deer Run Golf Course, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. The period of performance is 287 calendar days from issuance of Notice To Proceed 1. Renovation includes green complexes, bunkers, and irrigation system. Project will rebuild eighteen course greens and practice green to current published USGA green construction specifications. The approved scope includes rebuilding forty greenside sand bunkers to be renovated and sized for playability, appearance, and ease of maintenance. The construction of the green complexes is to be accomplished while the golf course is still open to play for patrons and guests. The rebuilding of the greens includes increasing the size of the greens to an average size of approximately 6,250 square feet to conform to USGA playing standards. The renovation of the greenside sand bunkers shall be sized to provide easy raking with powered rakes and be shaped to allow mowing with a triplex reel-type mower. In order to bid this project, bidders must meet the following Pre-Qualification standards: GOLF ARCHITECT: (1) Architect shall either be a regular member of the America Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) or have a minimum of eleven years experience in the design, preparation of plans and specifications, and observation of construction to completion of at least two golf courses within the last five years. (2) Architect should be local or within reasonable travel distance to the course. In addition to design requirements, the golf architect shall be retained through the construction phase of the project to have the expertise on base for any artistic changes. GOLF COURSE BUILDER: (1) The builder must be a Certified Builder Member of the Golf Course Builders Association of America or have successfully completed a renovation of a minimum of 54 greens in the last five years in accordance with USGA standards for greens construction. (2) The builder shall provide a Project Superintendent who has experience as a Construction Superintendent, and Head or Assistant Golf Course Project Manager. (3) The builder shall provide a Lead Shaper who has experience as a golf course shaper and has performed as lead shaper. Provide references for this person. (4) The bidder must be capable of providing the necessary bonding required within the contract. Magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
