Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to solicit and negotiate, on a sole source basis with Biacore Inc., 200 Centennial Ave., Ste 100, Piscataway, NJ 08854 because it is believed that no other source of supply can satisfy the Governments requirement. The NIH has a requirement for Biacore T100 Processing Unit. (1) Shall be a protein interaction processor with accessory kit including sensor chip package, reagent package, vial and cap package, start-up and maintenance kit. (2) Shall deliver information regarding active contraction, kinetic rate constants, affinity data and thermodynamics data for specific molecular interaction in real time at concentrations ranging from picomolar to millimolar and have the ability to detect a wide range of molecular masses ranging from ca. 200 Da to the size of bacteriopage particles or whole cells. (3) Shall be capable of studying formation of multimeric complex requiring stepwise formation without intermediate wash steps. (4) Shall be capable of capturing all the partners of a complex on the sensor chip, allowing subsequent identification by MS or tandem mass spectrometry. (5) Shall offer a full range of sensor surfaces, including dextran, short dextran, flat carboxyl, low charge dextran, hydrophobic and lipophilic sensor chips, strptavidin sensor chip and NTA sensor chips. (6) Shall incorporate biosensor chip surfaces that are reusable for multiple (hundreds) of sample cycles by automatic injections of a regeneration solution between sample injections. (7) Shall maintain a telephone line and email account for telephone support (consultation). (8) Shall incorporate a single sensor surface overlaid by four flow cells, each with a volume of 20nL. (9) Shall offer three (3) options for subsequent identification of binding partners by other techniques including MS and PCR. (10) Shall incorporate the ability to measure molecular interactions by SPR at precisely controlled temperature, enabling the measurement of both kinetic and thermodynamic constants with the same technology. (11) Shall include software with control and evaluation wizards at every stage of protein interaction analysis. (12) Shall analyze up to 394 samples automatically. The Northern American Industry Classification system Code (NAICS) is 334516, with a size standard of 500. Any response must be received in writing within ten (10) business days from the published date of this notice. Information furnished should include enough material to allow the Agency to perform a proper evaluation. All vendors/prospective contractors must be registered with the Central Contractor?s Registration (www.ccr.gov) prior to award date. This is a notice of intent and not a request for proposals.
