Description
Y -- SOURCES SOUGHT The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concerns only. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is more than $10,000,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 236116 and the small business size standard is $28.5 Million. The estimated time for completion is 650 days. The solicitation, when issued, will be formatted as a Request for Proposal (RFP) in accordance with the requirements designated by sections of the FAR 15.203 for a competitive negotiated procurement utilizing the authorized Two-Phase Design-Build selection procedures of FAR 36.3. The acquisition is for the design and construction of the Chase Hall Barracks Construct New Annex-E at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. The scope of the project consists of the construction of a 150-room four-story dormitory addition to Chase Hall Barracks. Chase Hall is an aging dormitory facility, consisting of four connected wings (Annexes A, B. C and D), constructed in several phases between 1932 and 1970. The existing annexes are scheduled for renovation in five phases between 2008 and 2016. Construction of the new addition (Annex E) will provide ?swing? berthing space for cadets during each phase of the renovations. Annex E will match the existing buildings architectural style and materials. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures.
