Description
ANY REQUESTS MUST BE WITH YOUR COMPANY NAME, ADDRESS, TELEPHONE AND FAX NUMBER, PLEASE NO EMAILS UNABLE TO ACCESS IT. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five (45) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice or received as a result of a notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The U S Naval Academy has a requirement for services with Professor Anatoly Rozenfeld, professor of Medical Radiation Physics, University of Wollongong, Australia for a period of performance from 1 August 2005 through 31 July 2006 to deliver spectra for secondary particle types and energies on the simulated interactions of cesium-137 gamma rays, 250 MeV protons and 1-GeV iron ions, interactions in SOI CMRP Microdosimeters modeled with GEANT 4. Supply three (3) Chips of present design with cell dimensions of 30 x 30 x 10 cubic microns, and three (3) chips of present design with cell dimensions of 30 x 30 x 5 cubic microns. Provide a development plan of design options that will lead to an improved SI Microdosimeter of smaller cell dimensions and low noise (better sensitivity) able to obtain spectra at linear energies comparable to or lower than those presently available.
