- To order solicitation, firms must register on the EBS website at http://www.nww.usace.army.mil/ebs/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp No other registration will be accepted. Solicitation No. W912EF-05-B-0018 expected to be issued on or about 09 August 200 5. This IFB for construction work is subject to availability of funds. Bids will be opened no sooner than 30 calendar days after solicitation is issued. The work will consist of performing modifications and repairs to Fish Pump #3 at McNary Dam. The fi sh pump is a 2500 cfs Kaplan type pump. Modifications and repairs will include the following: Replacement of existing packing sleeve, guide bearings and journals; Performing machining operations on the pump intermediate shaft; Replacement of the lower p ump shaft; Performing nondestructive inspection and repair and modifications to existing cast steel pump intake stay vanes; Application of high performance submersible coatings on the pump shaft and intake bell ; Installation of new cooling water system ; Clean the motor rotor with dry ice blast; Check and correct the bearing alignment as necessary. Perform single plane balancing of the impeller; and Electrical work including minor modifications to motor controls due to installation of new resistance t emperature detector displays and new lower guide bearing instrumentation. The work will also include the fabrication and installation of structural steel work platforms for fish pump #3; furnishing and installing a personnel/material hoist system; Furnish ing and installing a portable electrical distribution panel; and furnishing and installing a 480 Volt, 3-phase, 400gpm submersible unwatering pump. Site visit information will be included in the solicitation. Solicitation is open to both large and small business concerns.
