INVITATION FOR BID (IFB) WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY AT THE PIXS WEBSITE. NO HARDCOPIES, FAXES OR EMAILS WILL BE AVAILABLE. PLEASE REGISTER AS A SOURCE (www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil) TO BE NOTIFIED OF IFB, AMENDMENTS, CLARIFICATIONS, ETC. Offerors (including those registered as a source) ARE RESPONSIBLE TO CHECK THE PIXS WEBSITE FOR CURRENT INFORMATION. This project consists of replacing 6 actuators for raw water valves ranging from 16" diameter to 72" diameter. These valves are located in valve pits throughout the Base and some are controlled remotely from a central location, while some are locally controlled at the valve pit. Additionally, this effort will provide and install sump pumps and high water level alarms in 10 valve pits. Some of the alarms will be connected to the central system, and provide indication on the control system graphics panel, while others will only require a local high water level alarm. An optional part of this contract will be to replace the actuator for an existing 12" diameter valve, and replace 3 manually operated water valves with new valves and actuators (20" diameter, 24" diameter, and 36" diameter). Included in this option will be sump pumps and local high water level alarms for 3 additional valve pits. Electrical work will include providing and installing electrical conduit, wiring and essential accessories as required for lighting, actuators, and sump pumps. This work will require entry into confined spaces and access to valves located in water filled valve pits in some cases. Coordination with test schedules and minimization of water outages will be required.
