Description
Provide a Preliminary & Final design for replacing existing SaniPac Compactor at VAMC, 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA. Designs involves replacing Medical Waste Sterilizer/Compactor, construction of a concrete pad if necessary, HVAC, electrical & plumbing modifications, a canopy structure, enclosed compactor/dumpster, waste lifts & all necessary modifications to accommodate the new unit, incl preparing any measured drawings of existing systems required to insure the accuracy of your design. Design shall meet all federal, state, & local requirements. Drawings will be CADD generated with readable AutoCad Release 2005. Specifications shall be compiled from VA master specifications and are available on the internet at http://www.va.gov/facmgt/standard/. THE PRELIM DESIGN IS FOR A FULLY DEVELOPED PRELIMINARY DESIGN WITH THE PROVISION FOR OPTIONAL AWARD OF THE WORKING DRAWINGS AND CONSTRUCTION PERIOD SERVICES. Preliminary design is the first phase of the design process, to clearly define the basic requirements of the project. This includes: 1) detailed cost estimate, 2) prelim drwgs defining the scope the project, & 3) a list of all VA Master Construction specs needed for the project. At the end of the Preliminary design the A/E will make an assessment as to the involvement of asbestos containing material on the project. NAICS codes: 541310/541330. Announcement is for A-E services, ONLY. A-E firms meeting requirements are required to submit 2 copies of: (1) SF 330, Architect-Engineer Qualifications, Parts I, II, and any requested supplemental data to the Contracting Officer NLT 2:PM (EST), 8/26/05. SF (Standard Form) 330 can be obtained at the following website: http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.do?formType=SF. Selection criteria incl 1) professional qualifications 2) specialized experience & technical competence of A-E firm w/similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with VA, other Government agencies, & hospitals; 4) geographical location of A-E firm; 5) experience & roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control & estimating effectiveness; 7) CAD capability; & 8) professional capacity of the firm to accomplish proposed work within scheduled timeframes. EST construction cost between $500,000 and $1 million. THIS PROPOSED CONTRACT IS SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS.
