Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking qualified sources as well as comments on the draft statement of work for a project to design, recommend the best health benefits plan(s), assist in the implementation, and assess the efficacy of health benefits packages for participants in SSA demonstration projects. The purpose of the Health Benefits Packages project is to support and enhance other SSA demonstration projects so that the chronic conditions and the health of SSA demonstration participants (i.e. disability applicants and beneficiaries) can improve and increase the possibility of work. Two of these SSA demonstrations are the: (1) Mental Health Treatment Study (SSA-RFP-05-1044) and (2) Accelerated Benefits Demonstration (SSA-RFP-05-1045). The Mental Health Treatment Study was published July 8 on the Federal Business Opportunities Website. The Accelerated Benefits Demonstration project is expected to be published by July 22. There is no restriction preventing the Health Benefits Packages contractors from bidding on any SSA demonstration projects. Please review the attached draft statement of work and provide a response. It may be helpful to also do a brief review of the Mental Health Treatment Study and the Accelerated Benefits Demonstration solicitations. If you are interested in the project, it would be appreciated if you could forward the name and address of your firm and the name, telephone number, and email address of a contact person. If you are not interested in the project, a brief explanation to that effect would be helpful to SSA. Correspondence or e-mails regarding this matter should be addressed to: Joseph Tanzi, Office of Program Development and Research, 128 Altmeyer Building, 6401 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235, (410) 965-3528, E-mail: Joseph.Tanzi@ssa.gov or Michele Adler, Office of Program Development and Research, 3532 Annex Building, 6401 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235, (410) 965-5519, E-mail: Michele.C.Adler@ssa.gov. A previous request for information synopsis is also attached. Interested parties should reply within ten days of the posting of this posting.
