- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Invitation for Bids (IFB) for Construction of Headquarters Bldg/1st Street Disabled Parking. This project contains seven (7) option line items as follows: Option 1 Connecting to existing power source inside Building (M6-0399), wiring and conduit from electrical connection to exterior designated termination points. (Performance Period: 30 days) Option 2 Masonry, concrete, and electrical wiring, lighting and appurtenances for elevated concrete planters and curved walls. (Performance Period: 30 days) Option 3 Furnishing and installing all materials and appurtenances associated with the mosaic tile NASA logo. (Performance Period: 30 days) Option 4 Furnishing and installing all materials and appurtenances associated with the Medjool Date Palms in the East Parking Lot. (Performance Period: 30 days) Option 5 Paving, drainage improvements, excavation and backfill, demolition, irrigation improvements, landscaping, erosion control, sidewalks, and signage and striping. (Performance Period: 180 days) Option 6 Milling and repaving of First Street from C to D Avenues. (Performance Period: 60 days) Option 7 Furnishing and installing all materials and appurtenances associated with the Medjool Date Palms in the West Parking Lot. (Performance Period: 30 days) The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 210 calendar days after notice to proceed for Base Bid. See options for additional performance period. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 237310 and $28M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about August 5, 2005 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about August 26, 2005. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 321-867-2851. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. [OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED] An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). FAR 52.236-27 Site Visit (Construction) (Feb 1995) Alternate I (Feb 1995) (a) The clauses at 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions, and 52.236-3, Site Investigations and Conditions Affecting the Work, will be included in any contract awarded as a result of the solicitation. Accordingly, offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed.
