Description

This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and an award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) intends to issue a Request for Proposals(RFP) for the services of a contractor to restore vegetation communities in wet prairies, hydric pine flatwoods and adjacent hardwood hammocks by cutting down cabbage palms that have invaded these communities due to hydrological changes.The project will take place at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge in Naples, FL. This is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE with a NAICS code of 561730 and a size standard of less than $6 million. Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 401815R020 will be issued on July 22, 2005 or soon thereafter, with a tentative closing date of Aug. 15, 2005. July 29, 2005 is the tentative date for a site visit. The Fish and Wildlife Service is presently using Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue Request for Proposals and Purchase Orders. In order to view and download a copy of the solicitation when issued, all prospective offerors must be registered at the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website http://www.ccr.gov. You must have a valid Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) number and e-mail address to register. All contractors with access to the internet and an e-mail address can receive electronic notifications of award. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Thus, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidder's mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for proposal receipts may render your offer non-responsive and result in the rejection of same.
