- Description
- The United States Penitentiary, Leavenworth, KS., is soliciting a contract to upgrade the FCI Fire Alarm System. The work includes, but is not limited to reviewing the existing fire alarm firmware, updating as necessary to work in conjunction with existing fire alarm system, and to incorporate the elevator fire service and electrical shunt functions. Firmware shall accommodate the existing system and be compatible with all existing devices. The period of performance will be 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications. The construction magnitude is between $25,000 and $100,000. This solicitation is set-aside 100% small business and the NAICS code is 238210. This is not a personnel appointment. The award of the contract does not constitute an employee/employer relationship. The contractor will not be supervised, but will be monitored to determine if services rendered are in compliance with the contract terms and conditions. The contractor will adhere to specific rules and regulations of the department and institution. Any individual working within the confines of USP/FPC Leavenworth must undergo a background investigation and drug test prior to being permitted inside the institution. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be available on or after 28 July 05 and will be distributed through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site ?www.fedbizopps.gov?. The website provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available, except in extreme circumstances and only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. The government may award the contract without discussions, therefore, offerors are instructed to submit their best offer initially. All responsible small business sources are encouraged to submit an offer for consideration. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/bids equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
