- This pre solicitation notice serves to express the Forest Service?s intention to award a firm fixed price contract, competitively. The contract will be for removing approximately 450 sq-yds of damaged asphalt from tree roots to be identified on the ground by government prior to receiving quotes. Replace with suitable material in compacted layers and place 6 inches of Grade D aggregate base for new asphalt. Construct 1 inch +/- surface course to bring up to level with existing asphalt layer and apply two inch overlay over entire parking lot. Work to include site prep as well as tack coat. Project area consists of asphalt parking as well as access road from the fall creek road. Project is located in the Palisades Ranger District, Caribou-Targhee N.F., Bonneville County, Idaho. A site visit for interested quoters is tentatively planned for August 23, 2005. Solicitation for this project shall be posted on the web at this site on or about 15 days from today. Work is estimated to start September 19, 2005. The period of performance will be 7 calendar days. The solicitation shall not be restricted to small business. Quotes shall be due Tuesday, September 6, 2005, 3:00 p.m. MST. Plans are available for inspection without charge at 1405 Hollipark Drive, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. All responsible vendors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database and have proper bonding capability before being eligible to submit a quote under this solicitation.
