- The USDA, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) intends to make a sole source award to QMRI for an estimated $100,000 for the Hispanic Health Tour, a national educational and awareness campaign targeting Latino communities on the significance of being healthy, as part of the "Closing the Health Gap--Hispanic Health Initiative". QMRI is coordinating the effort with DHHS as the principal sponsor of the tour which targets 10 major cities tentatively scheduled from August thru December 2005. QMRI will coordinate booth space at each location, in addition to Health Tour radio education spots and web site information to promote the new dietary guidelines as they relate to the Agency's MyPyramid and Eat Smart Play Hard.
