- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), on behalf of the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL), intends to negotiate a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Action Manufacturing Company, 100 East Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134. This requirement is to purchase 12-guage high explosive ammunition and to provide an ammunition item with a United States Marine Corps approved safety certification for man firing by Department of Defense (DOD) personnel. The certification must be effective no later than 01 September 2005. Further requirements include (a) Ammunition item must be a non-developmental 12-guage 3-inch magnum shotshell; (b) Ammunition must function reliably in all currently fielded military shotguns; (c) Ammunition must utilize DOD approved propellant explosive payload, and fusing; (d) Ammunition must employ a 3 (or more) action safety mechanism and (e) Ammunition must be capable of producing a caliber-sized hole ? inch cold rolled steel plate at 34meters range. No Request for Proposal is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement, to include descriptive literature, within 15 days of this announcement to the contact person listed above.
