Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract for the in-place resurfacing and painting of the Unit 9 turbine wetted parts at The Dalles Dam located on the Columbia River near The Dalles, Oregon. The work includes, b ut is not limited to, removing the existing paint, grinding, resurfacing, and repainting the turbine unit, which includes the turbine blades, hub, stay ring, wicket gates, head cover and associated metal parts. The turbine will be available to the Contrac tor starting on November 4, 2005 and the work shall be completed no later than April 24, 2006. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For this project the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with similar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO may have other duties for this work that inclu de being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsible individual. The estimated cost range of the specified work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Invitation for Bid No. W9127N-05-B-0014 will be available o n or about August 4, 2005 with a tentative bid opening on or about September 6, 2005 or 30 days after issue. Performance and payment bonds will be required for this contract. The successful low bidder must have a minimum of 5 years prior experience in hy dro turbine work. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns.
