Description
This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, Northwest Fisheries Science Center located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for a contractor to provide weekly training Northwest Fisheries Service Center personnel in topics, methods, techniques and approaches in modern watershed and marine resource management. The intended acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 235 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. The government has identified University of Washington Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (UW JISAO) as the only one qualified source who can complete work under this contract. Since 1977, the JISAO has been a ?Center of Excellence? that fosters research collaboration between NOAA and the University of Washington. JISAO has the unique combination of specialized technical experience relative to NOAA, NMFS and NWFS scientific issues and substantial and established infrastructure for providing specific services for the weekly training seminars required for this contract. A firm- fixed price order will be issued with performance period of one year from date of issue. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within ten (10) calendar days of its publication. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed to (206)526-6025, attention Maria Mendoza. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to UW JISAO, whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the government without further notice. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $50, 000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov.
