Description
N8620050011 - Construction magnitude is $100,000 to $250,000. NAICS 236118, size standard $28,500 million. The work required is located at Chiricahua National Monument, located 37 miles south east of Wilcox, Arizona. The work of this contract consists of construction of a new HVAC system in an existing historic building, related selective demolition of existing heating system, rodent proofing of the building with related masonry restoration, finish carpentry, rehabilitation of an exterior historic door, and mitigation of biological contaminants in the historic Cowboy Guest House at the Faraway Ranch District, for Chiricahua National Monument, AZ. Information on Chiricahua National Monument may be obtained at www.nps.chir.gov. The work of this contract includes an alternate bid item that includes construction and installation of a new electrical system. The current electrical system is split for office and residential use. The new system will convert the old system into a single residence use. The building currently is closed due to hanta virus and rodent infestation. Prior to closing the building was used as a combined Park Ranger Office and residence. The contractor will be responsible for mitigation of biological hazards, and implementing the new HVAC, electrical, and related rodent proofing. General aspects of the construction include removal of the existing heating systems, and related ductwork. Finishes include exterior local rubble stone as retaining wall, and watertable, and wood frame walls. The exterior wood frame walls have wood board and batten siding and trim. Gypsum board walls are furred out on the interior. Door to be rehabilitated is a wood stile and rail door with historic hardware. The specified new HVAC mechanical system includes a gas-fired forced air heating and air conditioning system with a variable air volume air conditioning system. The electrical system includes a fire alarm system, and provisions to accommodate the Park's communications and data systems. All work will be performed under a single contract. The solicitation and all related documents will be available at the electronic website http://ideasec.nbc.gov. A paper solicitation will not be issued and electronic submission of contractor proposals will not be accepted. This is a best value procurement and award will be made based on price and non-price related factors. The Government will not select an offer for award on the basis of superior capability without concern for the price of the offer. Non price factors are approximately equal to cost or price. See Section M of the solicitation for complete details. Solicitation issue date is on or ABOUT August 2nd, 2005.
