- Description
- The US Army at Picatinny Arsenal has the need to purchase a combined Dynamic Laser Scattering (DLS) particle size and zeta potential measuring instrument. The particle size range for analysis shall be from 0.06nm to 6um; and the concentration range capability of the equipment must be from water-clear to 40 volume/weight percent. Zeta potential measurements shall be made using the patented M3-PALS technique (or proven equivalent) for highest resolution. Particle size and Zeta measurements shall be capable of being made on either disposable or re-usable cuvettes and cells. The controlling software package shall be such that the operator can click on an SOP (or Method) to initiate the run, with the analysis parameters and sample information stored, and capable of being readily displayed. Temperature control of the sample is important for both repeatability and experimental flexibility. The instrument must be capable of controlling temperature from 2 degrees C to 90 degrees C, with an accuracy of + or ??? 2 degrees. Supplier will be required to provide a complete instrument package to include on-site training and application performance guarantees. The supplier will be required to verify this application on ceramic and metallic nano-powders. Before being considered, provider must demonstrate the ability to disperse and reproducibly measure 50nm ceramic and metallic dispersions. Follow up application training must also be available.
