- The GLAC (Great Lakes Acquisition Center) is soliciting quotations for all necessary labor, supervision, materials, tools, and equipment to clean the central fan systems, associated duct work systems and other mechanical systems and equipment located at the VAMC Iron Mountain, 325 East H Street, Iron Mountain, MI 49801. Contract type is firm-fixed price and is 100% small business Service Disabled Veteran Owned set-a-side. NACIS Code is 561790. Anticipated award effective date is October 1, 2005. Electronic version and hard copy of solicitation will be available on or about July 19, 2005. Notice of Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (a) The proposed contract is 100% set aside for award to service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns. Offers or quotations from other than service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. (b) Definitions. As used in this provision: "Service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern"- (1) Means a small business concern- (i) Not less than 51 percent of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of any publicly owned business, not less than 51 percent of the stock of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans; and (ii) The management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of a veteran with permanent and severe disability, the spouse or permanent caregiver of such veteran. (2) Service-disabled veteran means a veteran, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(2), with a disability that is service-connected, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(16). The solicitation and specifications will be issued and made available free of charge at the Department of Veterans Affairs Business Opportunities System (BOS) website: http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov. Interested parties may also access the solicitation and specifications on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any amendments to this solicitation will also be available at the URL addresses. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments. Requests for hard copy solicitation must be in writing to the GLAC Contact Point and accompanied by a check for $10.00 made out to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Specifications and drawings are only available on the internet and CD-ROM. No paper copies or hard copy of any portion of the drawings will be available. No telephone requests will be accepted. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will also be available at the URL address. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments.
