- Description
- The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) has developed a small-scale pipeline apparatus and method for producing liquefied natural gas. The INL?s technology offers advantages of cost improvement over industry standard. The energy-efficient design eliminates the need for large, expensive compressors to drive the process, and plant size is reduced. The unique process design also eliminates the need for costly treatment of generated carbon dioxide and water waste products. The INL is soliciting interest from qualified industrial firms interested in participating in projects and commercializing this technology. It is anticipated that commercialization will be carried out by licensing this technology to a company. Additional development and support may be possible through Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with some or all of the funding support being provided by the participant(s). The INL has patented this technology. [See U.S. Patents 6,581,409, 6,425,263, and 6,105,390] The INL invites interested parties to contact us regarding the details of licensing and implementing this technology into an operation.
