Description
This announcement is issued for informational and planning purposes only. This Request for Information (RFI) is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. Responses to the RFI will not serve as proposals, bids, or offers, which could be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The United States Department of the Treasury, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is conducting market research from industry that will assist in the development, hosting, secure access, and management of a database of cross-border wire transmittal data to be integrated into FinCEN?s secure web-based BSA Direct environment and the BSA Direct E-Filing system. It is the purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research from industry concerning the feasibility, costs, and analysis of alternative technological approaches to the collection, storage, exploitation, dissemination, and protection of such reports. Proposed solutions will focus closely on leveraging existing systems and COTS technologies currently used by financial institutions to minimize the burden placed on industry by any reporting requirements, and must fully integrate with FinCEN?s existing systems. Interested parties wishing to participate in the information exchange meeting on August 2, 2005 should email Richard Pollack at CBWT@fincen.gov on or before July 26, 2005. Interested parties who do not wish to participate in the information exchange meeting, but would like to submit a response to the RFI should submit their responses electronically to CBWT@fincen.gov on or before August 19, 2005. No other information regarding this requirement will be provided at this time.
