The Department of Justice, Justice Management Division, intends to negotiate with Lexis/Nexis Group for subscriptions to the updates and supplements for various legal publications. The Lexis/Nexis legal publications contain copyright protected information which is utilized by Department attorneys for research and trial preparation. The following list represents the types of publications required: Federal Criminal Trials, 6th, 2005 supplement, Federal Courtroom Evidence August 2005 and United States Code service. These publications contain narrative analysis, criticism or evaluation of current legal issues, case law and/or statutes which are organized and indexed for research. The solicitation will not be distributed on the General Services Administration website [http://www.fedbizopps.gov]. This is not a formal solicitation, however, interested concerns must respond within ten [10] days from the date of this synopsis with written documentation, detailed data and pricing information, which clearly demonstrates their ability to perform the requirement. Responses received as a result to this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either bids or proposals. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon the written responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The proposed contract will supply Department locations nationwide.
