- Announcing the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition & Materiel Management National Acquisition Center's 2005 "THRIVING THROUGH PARTNERSHIP" Industry Conference! Dear Business Partner: Over the years, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Acquisition and Materiel Management National Acquisition Center (NAC) has hosted a number of industry conferences to forge strong business relationships with the pharmaceutical, medical/surgical supply and equipment industries. This year, we're making VA's Industry Conference even more effective by making it more comprehensive and interactive. To do this, we NEED your participation and voice. Because we believe that an exchange of views with our business partners enhances the relationships between our customers, contractors, and the Federal government, this year's conference will feature a larger, general "meet & greet" session right up front, an interactive town hall style open forum and smaller, targeted meet & greet sessions throughout each day. The purpose of this year's conference will be to hear from you about the effectiveness of our acquisition programs as well as to provide insight into VA's Health Care acquisition process, programs and new initiatives. We invite you to participate in this two day Industry Conference entitled, "Thriving through Partnership" on Monday, October 3rd and Tuesday, October 4th at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare Hotel, 8535 W. Higgins Road, Chicago, IL. For more information on the hotel and to make room reservations, visit our NAC website at www.va.gov/oamm/nac or go to www.va.gov/vastorenac and click on "What's new". There is no charge for this conference. The conference will convene at 8:30 AM on October 3rd and conclude at approximately 12:15 p.m. on October 4th, 2005. If you and/or other representatives of your company would like to attend this conference, please complete the form at the bottom of this letter and return it to: VA National Acquisition Center, Attn: Conference (049A1) via email to NAC@med.va.gov or you may fax it to (708) 786-4975 no later than August 30, 2005. On site registration will begin at 7:30 AM on October 3rd, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
