DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS) SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (S&T) DIRECTORATE (POC Stephanie Tennyson, Manager, External Affairs, DHS S&T) The Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate will sponsor its Engaging the Private Sector: Homeland Security R&D Directions and Opportunities, August 22-25, 2005. (See www.dhstech.org for additional information on the conference.) This conference is intended to provide an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) needs of the Department; potential business opportunities; and R&D being pursued under DHS S&T sponsorship. Meet senior management from the S&T Directorate, including Portfolio Managers from the Office of Plans, Programs, and Requirements (PPR) and Program Managers from the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA), the Office of Research and Development (ORD) and the Office of Systems Engineering and Development (SED), and learn how to participate in the challenge to bring innovative homeland security solutions to reality. Individual information exchange and dialogue with DHS S&T staff members will take place in the form of networking sessions throughout the conference days.
