- USAID/Jordan awarded Task Order No. LAG-I-814-98-00034-00 to CDM under the existing Engineering Indefinite Quantities Contract (EIQC) to provide capacity building, the installation of a number of new monitoring wells and pilot boreholes, the rehabilitation of existing wells, and providing water sampling and supporting equipment in order to establish a groundwater monitoring program for groundwater levels and groundwater quality within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) property. CDM is the only holder of the EIQC and the upper contract ceiling has been reached. As part of the SOW, CDM was requested to prepare an engineer?s estimate for the drilling work which includes the drilling and installation of monitoring wells and pilot boreholes, and well rehabilitation activities. The engineer?s estimate for this was $ 153,350.00 US and was based upon using local pricing for water well drilling that was obtained from the Water Authority of Jordan and local staff. The lowest quote received for the drilling work is $364,032.00. No further money can be added to Task Order under the EIQC since the upper ceiling of the EIQC has been reached by CDM. USAD/Jordan intends to sign a sole source contract with CDM for $393,155.00 for the water well drilling. This non-competitive contract is being awarded under authority of AIDAR 706.302-70(b)(5). Interested organizations may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. All statements of interests received within 15 days after publication of this synobsis will be considered by the Government. However, a determination by the Government not to proceed with this proposed contract action based upon responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
