Description
The USGS South Carolina Water Science District in Columbia, SC, has a requirement for obtaining an estimated 50 soil samples to be analyzed for low-level methylmercury and 5 soil samples to be analyzed for low-level total mercury during Fiscal Year 2005. In Fiscal Year 2006, a reduced number of soil samples will be analyzed - estimated 40 and 5 for methylmercury and total mercury, respectively. The USGS South Carolina Water Science District will retain the option to continue use of the selected contract laboratory or to re-submit a bid for FY 2006 based on performance of the selected laboratory. Specific tasks or deliverables required by the contracting laboratory for low-level mercury and methymercury analysis include: 1. Provide USGS with proof of certification by NELAC for the methods described above within two months of selection (on or before September 30, 2005). 2. Provide USGS with standard operating procedures for the methods described above within two months of selection (on or before September 30, 2005). 3. Provide USGS with performance or proficiency testing results and any laboratory evaluation results for the analytes of interest for 2005 within two months of selection (on or before September 30, 2005). 4. Provide USGS with quality-assured analytical data in a timely manner (within 60 days of submission of samples). This acquisition will be made under the simplified acquisition threshold of $100,000.00 and solicited by written Request for Quotation No. 05ERQQ0058. Selection will be made on a best-value basis. The NAICS code is 541990. Quotes are due at 2:00PM on 07/19/2005. The anticipated award date is 07/27/2005. All responsible sources who have a valid Dun and Bradstreet Number, as well as, an active registration with Central Contractor Registration (CCR), may submit a quotation.
